Mini-Extreme Makeover (MEM) w/ & w/out Optional Party

There are so many factors to consider in this program that a quote can be provided only after most aspects of the project are worked out - much of which will be determined during the in-depth consultation. Consultation fees up to one hour are applied toward overall commission if Manido' is hired for the project. Once you receive the quote, simply log back on, and make a 50% deposit, which is required to schedule your MEM. The balance will be due at the completion of the makeover. MEM's issues are always based on a per/room basis, and there are two basic forms of MEM's, both of which operate with on a 'deadline' basis - just like on tv! - with Manido's Team of qualified helpers. We have outlined some of the more obvious considerations for you to get an idea of the process, and begin formulating your thoughts and plans ahead of time. There's a lot to consider, but it's well worth it! We look forward to working with you on this exciting project.

'Leisurely' MEM
This makeover occurs over a period of days that you define, and typically is a non-surprise makeover plan, and the recipient is usually present. This program is typically used when someone wants a new space developed very quickly, for a number of reasons: they're really tired of their look, and want it changed NOW; they're hosting an important event; or it IS a surprise but they happen to be 'away' for the duration of the (multi-day) project.

'Fast & Furious' MEM
This program occurs uninterrupted in the course of a (very long) day, in order to surprise a lucky individual (ie: (a makeover of a child's room for their birthday, etc.). This is a very exciting program for everyone involved. It is VERY important to consider whether the recipients 'personality-type' lends itself to being 'open' to a makeover - there are individuals that would not 'appreciate', under any circumstances, their 'stuff' being worked over. Therefore, if you're considering it for Mom & Dad, and you know Dad would not be on-board, it's best to pass on an MEM for them. You should be very confident of your decision going in - Manido' accepts no responsibility for any dissatisfaction a recipient may have with either the process or the resulting makeover, as all decorating decisions, ultimately, will be made by you.

General Preparation

• Do you need to employ Manido's organizational services to ready the space for your MEM?
• Wall patching & basecoat painting (see Paint Application below).
• Have a vacuum and multiple extension cords available (carpet shampooing is not allowed DURING a makeover).
• Have cleaning supplies readily available (ie: Windex, furniture polish, paper towels, rags, etc.)
• Have a variety of multi-watt light bulbs available.
• Disconnect all electronic equipment before hand (Manido' is not responsible for reconnecting equipment.)
• Full Directions and parts available for any furnishings or window treatments you intend Manido' to install.
• If you remove your wall hangings ahead of time, you must tape all hardware/fasteners to each piece, so it is readily available.

Color Scheme & Theme
It is important to have a pretty good idea of colors and themes you would like when we begin planning. Having pictures from magazines to demonstrate your concepts are extremely helpful - Manido' also has a variety of up to the minute decorating books that are available for 'pick-up, sign-out & return' that may be helpful for you. Start flipping thru everything NOW. You can utilize Manido's Personalized Color Technology services to assist you in pre-determining your color scheme, and Virtual Room Design to pre-determine furniture placement (Virtual services).

Paint Application
Because the 'Laid-Back' MEM program occurs over a period of days, typically, a decorative paint finish can usually be achieved, since most of them require overnight dry times for the multi-layering techniques employed. Paint applications for a 'Fast & Furious' MEM usually are standard opaque paints in creative colors, or patterns, or a single application texture finish - unless a decorative paint finish is chosen that does not require multiple layering. Please refer to the section 'a few things to before we begin', and note that most of the issues addressed in that section apply to MEM's as well in the (decorative painting commission & Information) section. EXCEPT Manido' will take care of removal of all furnishings for you, unless you want to hasten the process and apply the primer-basecoat yourself. Because 'repair' work (patches in walls, etc.) need curing time, it is necessary you have your walls in paint-ready condition at the onset of the MEM. Manido' is available to make these repairs if you so choose.

Carpet, Furniture, Accessories, Plants
If you are purchasing new wall-to-wall carpet, it must be installed prior to the makeover (not during). Will we be redesigning using your existing furnishings, or are you intending to have new furnishings brought in for the project? If so, do you need Manido' to assist you in picking out your furnishings, or do you want us to do it entirely? If doing it yourself, you must schedule delivery according to the timeline of the project schedule (NOTE: if we're doing it, we will automatically take care of this for you. Manido' does not personally deliver 'furniture' for the project... furnishings 'yes' (if we shop for it), furniture 'no').

Recipient
What is the absolute MAXIMUM time you can GUARANTEE they will be away from the location? It is important you determine THEIR decorating preferences ahead of time, and preferably provide pictures that 'they' have indicated they like (you've got to be a little sneaky here.) Do you want to throw an exciting surprise 'Reveal' party where invitees are in attendance when the lucky recipient returns? If so, whom do you want to invite, and would you like them to participate by bringing a household gift relevant to the makeover? Also, remember it's important to let them know well in advance so they can plan accordingly. This program also provides an opportunity for you to receive a free One-Day Room Makeover. Because many of your guests will be clamoring to host the next party, Manido' Design will reduce its commission on your next One-Day Room Makeover by 50% for each party your guests book that day! It only takes two to get your next Room Makeover free! And, if you are planning a party, it's always a good idea to consider what's on the recipients agenda for the next day!
