Decorative Paint Commissions
Decorative Paint Commissions
Commissions for all decorative paint projects are determined in the consultation, taking into consideration the dimensions (square footage) of the project, and the number of steps involved to create the desired finish. A job-estimate will be provided, which does not include project materials (these charges will be added to the balance of the project.) Your project will be scheduled when the 50% minimum deposit is received. All unscheduled repairs must be completed before we arrive - as unscheduled repairs impede everyone's schedules. If Manido' does any unscheduled wall repairs we will charge accordingly. We will perform normal surface preparation and apply appropriate primers, or you may do this step yourself, and commission Manido' only for the application of the decorative finish (the job-estimate will reflect your choice.) Manido' does not remove wallpaper. If a project is outside a reasonable commuting distance, additional charges for accommodations and travel (.25 cents p/mile) will be added to the balance of the project (due upon completion).
Mural & Trompe l'Oeil Specifics
Before work commences, a markup board and/or preliminary sketches will be provided for your approval. The commission for a markup board is $75 (nonrefundable); additional changes are charged accordingly. The products used consist of flat paints or artist acrylics. The client is charged for all specialty paints purchased for the design, and will receive any leftover paint. Artist paints for murals will have a flat rate based on what is used. All designs remain the property of Manido' Design for execution, unless otherwise specified. Following client approval, a 50% minimum deposit of the design-estimate is required to have your project scheduled with Manido'. The remaining 50% with any additional charges are due upon completion of the project.
- All project-scheduling dates will be confirmed verbally, and in the written contract. Modifications to schedule dates must be imparted as soon as possible, and provided in writing as well. The final schedule will be noted on the contract and re-signed-off on by both parties at the commencement of work.
- It is strongly recommended you leave sufficient 'cushion time' if your project has an absolute deadline! We can only estimate the amount of time it will take to complete the project (however, we are usually very close). We cannot stress this very important precaution enough. It ensures any unforeseen problems, or the perfecting our work to your satisfaction, will not impede the overall project schedule.
- All furnishings, accessories, wall hangings, and draperies must be removed from the project room. If a particularly large or awkward item cannot be removed for some reason, it must be placed in the center of the room, or at least 5' away from any wall receiving a paint finish. This furniture should also be completely protected/covered with a non-porous material. If you do not have sufficient coverage for the piece, please provide Manido' with the dimensions of the object, and we will supply a cover for it. Manido' will of course, provide protection for the flooring.
- Children and pets are not allowed in the work area, and must be kept at bay while tools, materials, and equipment are being transferred along a designated pathway to-and-from the vehicle and the work area.
- If you have pets, you must vacuum and/or mop the entire project area thoroughly before work commences. If you do not, your pets' hair WILL get into the finish of your project. Even if we catch them, they are almost impossible to remove in time without adversely effecting the very short 'open' work time of the paint and glaze products.
- Decorative Painting is an art that requires much focus and concentration. Manido' produces it's very best work, in the timeliest fashion, relative to how able we are stay focused on our work. We respectfully request that interruptions - while artwork is being applied, be kept to an absolute minimum. There will be plenty of opportunities to discuss issues throughout the project, as there are unavoidable mini-breaks that inevitably occur throughout the day.
